Bling It On

In the past, I’ve been drawn to dark nail colors during the Fall and Winter seasons (black, charcoal, deep maroon, plum). However, this season I’ve found myself wearing a winter white polish almost the whole time. I’m guessing it’s due to the recent sparkly addition to my left hand – the white just pairs so well with diamonds.

I stumbled upon Sephora‘s new Nail Bling (3-D nail art stickers with a raised texture) and decided to give them a try to jazz up my usual white polish. I used the White Basket Weave bling and the result is amazing – it looks like my nails have been covered in diamonds. And to be honest, I really can’t stop staring at them. It’s a perfect nail look for New Year’s Eve or even a wedding – give this 5 minute mani a try for easy DIY nail art.

{prep nails with a clear base coat, then paint nails with two coats of opaque white polish – I used Sephora by OPI’s A-Ha Moment!}

{peel Nail Bling sticker off of the plastic backing and apply each individually, matching the sticker sizes to the correct nails}

{trim excess sticker off of the ends of nails with a nail clipper and file the rest down so that you have a smooth edge}

{finish with a clear top coat and apply daily to preserve the stickers – they should last approximately 5+ days with proper maintainance}

    wow the stickers are so cool! I can imagine they would also look great with a darker base coat underneath.

    holy s*** that looks awesome! is it a lot of work though? and how much were the stickers?

    • Thanks! It’s actually not too much work – the thing that takes the longest is just waiting for the polish to dry, but the stickers are easy to put on. And they’re super-cheap – only $7 for a pack of 18 stickers (which you could stretch for two applications if you save some of the part you cut off).
