Ringing in the New Year

I hope everyone had a great New Year’s Eve and start to 2012! In the past, my friends and I have made elaborate NYE plans at various clubs and restaurants around SF that end up costing a pretty penny. So this year, a couple of us got together for a small dinner party and quiet night in at my apartment.
We had a blast talking, eating, and playing games the whole night, and never wished we were at a club instead. We were actually so involved with out games that we almost missed the NYE countdown (if you’ve ever played Celebrity than you know why – the last round is intensely hilarious). So here’s to 2012 – I have a feeling it’s going to be a great one!

{Easy centerpieces consisting of confetti, hats, and plain water glasses filled with battery-operated votive candles}

{The well-stocked bar and appetizer area for lounging around the kitchen and chatting}

{Festive candy for the goodie bags}

{A close-up of my coordinated fingernail polish and dress}

{My heels that always end up getting kicked off about an hour into any party – another advantage to entertaining at home}

{It’s never a NYE party without crazy party hats}

    sounds like a fun NYE! happy new year!

  2. I looked up the game “celebrity” and it sounds so much fun! I may have to try it out next time the gang gets together. We all stayed in again this year for New Years playing drinking games like we were still in college. Let’s just say we would make any college freshman proud. Love the blog!

    • Thanks for the blog love! 🙂 That game is soo much fun, I definitely recommend it (and we played with the 3 rounds, last round being pantomime only – very hilarious). Love your NYE pics, can’t wait to see the “ugly” ones tomorrow haha 😉
