Now THIS is a collection I can really get behind! I love a big, bright print and therefore love Trina Turk, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out today that Trina Turk is collaborating with Banana Republic this Summer (June 2012), designing a limited-edition, 60-piece capsule collection including everything from dresses to swimwear. The inspiration is the Palm Springs ‘cocktails by the pool’ lifestyle for the colors, styles, and prints – translating to lots of white and bright colors/patterns.
“I find myself continually inspired by the cool, modern vibe of southern California and I wanted to bring that spirit to Banana Republic’s summer collection,” Banana Republic creative director Simon Kneen said in a release. “Trina’s signature prints are beloved and embody the aspirational Palm Springs lifestyle, so she was a natural partner for Banana Republic’s capsule collection this Summer.”
I haven’t seen a price point noted anywhere yet, but hope it’s within the normal Banana Republic price range. They’ve only released one look so far (right), but you know I’ll be posting the full lookbook as soon as it’s out!
*If you live in the SF Bay Area, mark February 1st on your calendars because Trina Turk will be here in the city at the San Francisco Design Center, chatting about finding your style, building your brand and why California is still the land of risk-takers and tastemakers.
